천상의 목소리의 르네상스(Art Rock Group) 보컬리스트인 Annie Haslam의 클래식 소품입니다.
~land의 이름을 가진 나라 여성 보컬리스트는 대부분 청아한 목소리를 가졌다
라는 생각을 가졌었는데 이 역시 잉글랜드 출생이라 어쩔수 없군여. ^^;
이 소품은 클래식 작곡가의 음악들을 로얄 필 하모닉 오케스트라의 연주에
맞춰 애니가 노래를 부릅니다.
총 12곡의 클래식 넘버중 일반적으로 우리들 귀에 익은 몇곡을 추려봤습니다.
2번째 트랙의 Still Life는 바하의 G선상의 아리아.
6번째 트랙의 Careless Love는 쇼팽의 이별곡.
7번째 트랙의 Glitter And Dust는 차이코프스키의 백조의호수.
9번째 트랙의 Save Us All은 알비노니의 아다지오.
11번째 트랙의 Bitter Sweet는 생상의 동물의 사육제중 백조.

Recorded with Louis Clark and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Still Life is the second solo album by Renaissance vocalist Annie Haslam. Released in 1985 on the Eaton Music label, it consists of popular classical tunes set to the lyrics of Betty Thatcher.

Now out of print, Still Life was reissued throughout the world on various labels and with varying CD cover art.

All Music Guide: Before Sarah Brightman and Charlotte Church made it their genres of choice, Annie Haslam took classical melodies and a symphony orchestra and made perfect little gems of pop songs -- featuring time-honored melodies and arrangements to die for. This is one of Haslam's career highlights: a gorgeous, lyrical, and endlessly listenable collection of classical pop nuggets, topped off with brilliant -- often profound -- lyrics. The album has many highlights -- too many to single out -- but is best listened to from start to finish. (That being said, try getting the title track out of your head once you've heard it.) It all takes on the quality of a contemporary pop symphony, and again, set the template for countless artists to follow. A must-have.
